It’s All About Style Baby!!

1960 “Little Jo Designs” Shift Dress

Just because you want to buy vintage clothing doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice the style you want to portray in your everyday life. The vintage clothing I specialize in is women’s clothing from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. I particularly like this era of clothing as I am obsessed with the shift dresses for their simplicity, comfort and grace. It’s a style you can wear any time and for any occasion.

As the 1970s developed we notice a more radical design in the shift dress. And even though the patterns of the fabric became more colourful as the hem lines went up, we can still see the basic shift dress style remain the same. Timeless beauty.

Today, we have a lot more flexibility in how we dress. Patterns may not be as wild as some of the 70s clothing but many could still be worn today as a piece with personality.

Besides the shift dress, many styles of that era are alive today. Capris, or pedal pushers as they were called back then, paired with a little tailored tank top is a cute style from the 50’s that we have adopted today as our summer wear. The waist lines have changed but the basic style is still there. And to tell you the truth, a mid-to-high waistline is preferable for me. If you watch the latest trends, high-waisted pants are on the rise (pardon the pun!).

So when it comes to style, finding these pieces is a win-win for our environment but also for your personal fashion. Have a look at my website and others like mine. Browse through the many vintage dresses, coats, tops and skirts and find the style that’s right for you.

P.S. I don’t have the beloved pedal pushers I so love on my website yet but it is my mission to find some!! Stay tuned!!
